Reber’s Riverside Wedding | Yamhill County Photographer

Hi, i'm jasmine!

follow along:

Poppy & Rose Photography is an Oregon wedding photographer who focuses on capturing the real, raw, candid moments.

Some couples you meet as a Yamhill Oregon wedding photographer and you just know the day is going to be good.

That was Alyssa and Jake from the start. When we met for their engagement session at Upper North Falls, I’ll be honest ~ I was a little nervous. Jake’s mom is a photographer, and there is something about shooting in front of someone who knows exactly what you’re doing that makes you want to be on your A game. But within about ten minutes none of that mattered, because Alyssa and Jake are just genuinely warm, easy people who are completely themselves around each other. The kind of couple where the camera almost doesn’t matter because they’re too busy actually being in love to overthink any of it.

That energy carried straight into their wedding day at Reber’s Riverside in Yamhill, Oregon in September.

The Morning

I found Jake and the groomsmen first, which is always a good sign. They were calm, nearly ready, and the whole morning had that easy relaxed energy that sets the tone for everything that follows. When Alyssa arrived from the Airbnb where she’d been getting ready, the day shifted into something a little more emotional in the best possible way.

The First Look with Dad

Before the ceremony, Alyssa did a first look with her dad. I will never get tired of photographing these moments. There is something about a father seeing his daughter for the first time on her wedding day that is completely unrepeatable, and this one was no exception. It was quiet and genuine and exactly the kind of moment that reminds you why this job matters.

The Ceremony | Yamhill Oregon Wedding

The ceremony was held outdoors, surrounded by the kind of family and community that you could feel in the room. Alyssa and Jake are deeply loved by the people in their lives, and it showed. The sky was overcast for most of the day, which honestly is a photographer’s best friend ~ soft even light, no harsh shadows, no squinting. We caught a little bit of sun in the evening that gave us some warmth in the portraits, but the whole day had a gentle, grounded quality to it that fit them perfectly.

Portraits and the Party

After the ceremony we headed into portraits, and this is where Reber’s Riverside really delivers. The property along the Yamhill River gives you so many options ~ water, trees, open sky ~ and Alyssa and Jake were completely at ease by this point in the day. The reception moved indoors and the energy picked all the way back up. Their people know how to celebrate.

The Sparkler Exit

We ended the night with a sparkler exit, which is one of those things that looks chaotic from the outside and absolutely magical in photos. Alyssa and Jake ran through it laughing and it was a perfect ending to a really beautiful day.

Reber’s Riverside is one of those venues that does a lot of the work for you. The property along the Yamhill River gives you water, trees, open sky, and enough variety that no two galleries from the same venue ever look the same. If you’re considering it for your wedding, I’d genuinely recommend it.

And i’m obsessed with capturing real, raw, unposed moments that tell your love story as it truly is.

When I’m not photographing weddings, you can find me hanging with my two toddlers, thrifting for vintage finds, or sipping on peanut butter whiskey (seriously, try it). This blog is here to help you plan a wedding that feels like you and capture every beautiful, messy, real moment along the way.
